    • Pastries and Parents at Melrose - Thursday, March 21st (7:30am)

  • Melrose School Family Dance at the Jamestown Rec Center - Friday, April 5 (5:30-7pm)

  • Solar Eclipse - Monday, April 8

Why support the PTO?

The mission of the Jamestown Parent Teacher Organization is to promote the best interests of children at home and in school through the shared cooperation of families and teachers.

A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the PTO was established to provide educational resources, enrichment, and support to students, parents, and teachers of Jamestown’s schools.

 

Anyone can support the PTO by: 

  1. Making a financial contribution  

  2. Attending our meetings (see meetings page for calendar)

  3. Volunteering time to help with our  programs/events/projects

  4. Collect Box Tops and send them into the classroom

 

    Where does my donation go?

  • Funding to teachers for classroom supplies, special projects & books 

  • Field trips & transportation

  • Cultural arts & enrichment assemblies (e.g. science programs, social programs)  that broaden students’ learning     

  • Family activities like movie and Bingo nights, book fairs, a dance & more 

  • Parent information seminars, teacher appreciation week gifts & luncheon

  • Ice cream social for incoming military families

  • The 6th grade’s annual trip to Alton Jones, the 7th grade’s annual overnight trip to the Boston Museum of Science & the 8th grade’s annual trip to Washington D.C., lowering family costs

  • School-related expenses for any child with a financial need
